Jett’s Wild Flight: B-ball Hall of Fame

By: Jett Lillie, 8/20/22

It was a travel day and we just arrived at the Basketball Hall of Fame. My mom and my sister went to a soul festival instead that they saw down the road. But my dad and I went to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

I found some players I knew like Michel Jordan and Jason Kidd but mostly they were players my dad knew. [He’s old!] We watched two movies and learned about how basketball brought people together as a team.

Then we hit the court! It was awesome because it had an original basketball hoop [like a literal basket] and a dunking zone! My dad dunked up to the nine feet goal and I almost got seven feet!

One of daddy's dunks:

I LOVED THE BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME!

Jaycie’s Bunny Hoppin’ News: Mark Twain’s Home

By: Jaycie Lillie, 8/21/22

We had to wake up. [Ugh.] I wish I could sleep in all day! We got there early and shopped in the gift store. [And took these silly photos!]

Mark Twain wrote a lot of books! I bought a book called the Innocents Abroad. Momma bought us a book with 5 books in it, the Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, The Prince and the Pauper, and two others.

The tour gathered at some “trippy” looking steps. They got smaller as you go up and looked straight from the top. You had to look hard to see the that they were stairs and not a ramp going down. When we entered the house, we saw things like statues, lamps and crazy wood etched wallpaper, etc. There were to 2 hidden passages! We actually went through them. It was so cool, except that we could not take photos. [Boo!] There was a library/sunroom that Mark Twain’s daughters called their “jungle.” Here’s a photo from outside:

[sadness!] We couldn’t take photos inside! You will just have to look it up later online. After the tour we walked around the house, took photos outside, and then headed home.

It was an interesting tour and I learned a lot!
