Jaycie’s Bunny Hoppin’ News: Huntington Beach State Park
By: Jaycie Lillie, 10/21/22

We first at a picnic at the park. [Best picnic so far.] [There were no bugs!] Praise Jesus for that! We then went on an Alligator hunt. We saw 8! Some were baby alligators.

The bird we saw was my favorite alligator [because it wasn’t one!] [That’s why it was my favorite.]

The alligators were mean looking. Like they would eat you. [And they would!] I was ready for the beach, but we still had to tour the Atalaya Castle.

It was a winter home for some people called Anna & Archer Huntington. We walked around and all that fun stuff. Then we went to the BEACH!

We found a lot of shells. I liked the clams!! They are so cute and fascinating!
Goodbye!
Jett’s Wild Flight: “Palm Sunday”
By: Jett Lillie, 10/21/22 – 10/22/22
Sunday morning we watched church and ate cinnamon rolls. After, I played dodge ball at our campground. I had a break between dodge ball and gaga ball. Gaga ball is a game of ball in the ring and you can’t touch the ball below your knees.

After gaga ball, I ate lunch then played kick ball. I caught 4 balls. Then I played mini bowling with my dad. There is a lot of palm trees here!

I got in my Halloween costume and did the costume contest, but lost. Then I went trick-or-treating and got lots of candy! This campground full of palm trees was so much fun!

10/21/22 – 10/22/22, Visiting the Prymak’s:
We were so glad to be able to meet up with Terri, Lenny, & Grace Prymak who call Murrells Inlet, SC their home! Terri and I have worked together at CerpassRx for the past 6ish years and have become good friends. It was so good to see her and hug her neck! We were able to eat dinner together one night at a super fun little restaurant called Bisqit. They were known for their meals that included biscuits with all sorts of foods!

It was delicious food & so good to catch up with them. They graciously (& sneakily) paid for our meal! That was so kind! We said our “see ya laters” that evening and the next morning we met up with them at Brookgreen Gardens.
We arrived right as they were opening and met Terri & Lenny there.

Brookgreen Gardens is the botanical gardens that Archer & Anna Hyatt Huntington built to display all of Anna’s sculptures & house all of her animals that she used to observe as she was sculpting those animals. This place was so expansive! You could easily make this a full day or even 2 day excursion. Unfortunately, we only had 2.5 hours so we got after it! It was fun strolling through the beautiful grounds with huge mossy oak trees, statues, & fountains.

We only covered about half of the grounds and didn’t make it to the animal section. But we certainly enjoyed our time visiting with Terri & Lenny! We said our goodbyes and headed back to the RV resort to participate in their many activities. We are so thankful for good friends like the Prymaks who took time out of their days to meet up with us!
10/20/22 – 10/23/22, Carolina Pines RV RESORT:
I usually blog about the places we visit, however this time I’m going to mix it up and tell you about this amazing campground… or RV RESORT rather! As we were pulling into Carolina Pines RV Resort in Conway, SC our mouths were gaping opened. In our many years of RV’ing with our grandparents, parents, and our own rigs we’ve NEVER seen anything like this before!

Everything is SO super nice! It’s like a 5 star resort meets an RV campground… the epitome of “glamping” at it’s finest! And it’s so massive the campground map is a fold-up map that’s 3ft x 3ft.

This place has everything… 4 heated pools (1 indoor), multiple hot tubs, a lazy river with tiki bar right next to the HUGE water park & splashpad. It also has a full arcade, workout gym, yoga studio, bowling alley (mini bowling or duck bowling), 18 hole mini golf course, multiple playgrounds & dog parks scattered throughout, pickle ball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, billiards room, clubhouse, 2 general stores, 2 restaurants, and an event center with outdoor stage & courtyard. The list just goes on!

And soooooo many tiny home cabins to rent!

And there are so many fun common areas with patios, fire pits, bed swings, etc. to just hang out in. Jett loved the bed swings, he’s now planning how and where to build one on our back patio at home! I love the idea!

So this RESORT also has fun activities everyday planned for families and kids. This weekend just happened to be the 2nd of 3 Halloween weekends. They called it “Halloween II.” So of course my fearless people-loving and easy friend-maker of a son wanted to do it ALL! So he participated in the costume contest one afternoon… and there were quite a lot of kids in his age category! He was pretty pumped about his blow up Fortnite costume, however he wasn’t the only one with blow up costumes. That seemed the be the “thing” to do for costumes! He didn’t win as the judges were going more for clever, homemade costumes that were more scary or spooky than silly, but he enjoyed it. It definitely was fun people watching! Here's the parade of costumes in his age category:
They had 3 children categories broken up by ages and then they had a group category. This was so much fun to watch! There were so many creative & fun costumes in the group category! Here's some pics and a video of that parade:
Homemade Avengers costumes:

Chick-Fil-A: 3 cows and a chicken!

And my personal favorite... Danny & Sandy from Grease!

Then we had trick-or-treating after the costume contest for about 3 hours. Jett made the rounds, but Jaycie didn’t care to. Instead she crafted and colored which always fills her up!
That evening there was a golf cart parade – we didn’t know what to expect. But it turned out to be fun!
Here's Jaycie waiting for the parade with popcorn in hand and a beautiful sunset sky:

And here's the parade!
The glampers had decorated their golf carts for Halloween and even some were throwing out candy to the kids watching. And then after that the resort had the Ryan Perry Band for an outdoor concert while you walk around the decorated campsites. Apparently there was a big competition for this as well… and again, these “glampers” go ALL OUT! One or 2 blow ups and spiderwebs aren’t enough… one site had a full on spooky/haunted walk through with noises and moving blowups. Here's some photos I snapped as we walked through the sites:

As we were walking back towards our wing of the resort, it appeared that an unauthorized encore golf cart parade had developed. Only this time the parade was upgraded and was led by a hurse with 2 chainsaw madmen running around scaring all the kids. It was ridiculously hilarious. Definitely great people watching! Jason and I kept saying… “Only in South Carolina!” It became our little joke!
So the resort had other activities not just Halloween themed. There were lots of organized sports that Jett was eager to jump in on. Let’s see, he participated in Dodge Ball, gaga ball, kickball, and knockout. He made a couple of friends… and every time he’d return to the camper red-faced and sweaty! I told him, “Jett, it looks like you’re making up for all those lost PE classes!” Ha ha!
One of the nights Jason and I left the kids at the camper and had a little date night to ourselves! We walked around the campground, hung out by a fire pit for awhile, and then played some pool. (We were SO rusty!)

As we were wrapping up, the resort had an outdoor movie going with popcorn and it was adult only. We contemplated staying a bit longer but decided to head back since the next day was a travel day. It was good to get some couple time for the two of us! This was a really fun resort that allowed us to decompress and enjoy some fun activities together! Would definitely recommend for anyone truly wanting to experience GLAMPING at its finest!
